I think the new "light livery" looks way better on the 74 than on the 78.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
She looks AMAZING! Stunningly beautiful. Here to hoping more carriers put them on theri order sheets.
Southwest Airlines-"Once it pop's it's time to stop" Southwest Airlines-"Our Shamu's are almost real" Southwest Airlines -"We blow our top real easy" Southwest Airlines- "You can't top us..... really"
Now that is one spiffy looking aircraft.

I'm going against the grain and say that it's pretty ugly. I mean the tail isn't bad but the fuselage is very supermarket blue & white generic.
Spotters have been Homeland Security before HS was a glimmer in the president's eye.
I agree, its very bland and says nothing. The Dreamliner colors are much nicer and sharp.Originally Posted by Idlewild

What does the band have to do with the color of the plane? ;)Originally Posted by GothamSpotter
Sorry fans but the livery is way to plain/simple for my taste. And call me old school but not a fan of the winglets either, like the tradditonal ones, the ones on 763 ROCK ! A lot of naysayers say no one flies a particuliar airline for it livery but since Boeing is in the Biz of trying to sell very expensive airplanes I would think you would want the most flattering livery possilbe to help sell your airplanes, the dreamliner livery IMO does that. This does NOT, 2 thumbs down !
My 2 cents

why does the paint matter!? i just wanna see these fly... if these start stopping by kennedy you might even start seeing me out there regularly.Originally Posted by LGA777
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
This particular plane and 9 more will be delivered to Cargolux, so they will definitely stop at Kennedy at some point.Originally Posted by cancidas

I'm surprised you guys care about the paint. The whole idea is that it emerged from the hangar in a presentable way and we have our first full look at a historic aircraft. I'm excited to see more angles. This photo is now my cell phone's wallpaper.
Email me anytime at [email protected].
I don't care for the paint job either. My first reaction was that it is very similar to the A380 livery. My second reaction was, is this the best that Boeing could come up with? I mean, seriously...
Also, I'd like SOMEBODY to take a picture of this plane without using a wide angle lens!! Even on the Boeing site, it's tough to find semi-decent images of the jet that really show it well from different angles. All in due time, I guess.
I believe she's outside on the flight line now, so there should be more photo opportunities.Originally Posted by Speedbagel_001

I think it's important that this livery be as neutral as possible. Even the dreamliner setup that's mostly blue isn't neutral enough.
They want people to see it and be able to imagine it in whatever livery they have in mind. If you're someone that flies mostly a mostly red fleet, it'd throw you seeing the first one out be in your competitors colorway.
