New UN VIP aircraft to look out for

New Airbus A330-300 for the Belgian Air Force. I personally like the design on the tail because it makes it stand out:

I think that is one ugly looking aircraft. Just my opinion.

Agreed. Something interesting to look out for but a pretty bush league design.

    Total an utter Garbage,
This obscenity flew into ADW a few days ago and I didn't even want to go shoot it.
I guess it was too hard just use the solid look they had.

The only thing that's kinda ugly is the oversized font but especially the annoyingly-generic UGLY DARK BLUE TAIL :x

This would be the millionth operator that paints that damned color on the fin.

other than that I think it's a bit more interesting than the bizjet-looking older one

That red stripe on the top of the fuselage doesn't do it any favors either!

I actually like it alot, it is like a blend of old and new but the red on the top of the fuse needs to go. Kind of a mood killer. Otherwise, I love it. Going against the grain on this one. :borat:

The tail celebrates pretty much the only 2 things Belgium has left going for it - being the seat of the EU, and hosting NATO headquarters.

I think I agree Gerard, interestingly I've seen fellow spotters get really excited at the sight of an unmarked BBJ, Gulfstreams, and generic bizjets when they show up as UN traffic. This relatively colorful A330 is actually something I consider shootable and for a non-airline aircraft as good as it gets.

It could have looked 10 times worse, with no color on the fuselage or yucky military gray all over like that Chilean AF 767

Not that I like it, but its something fairly unique to probably shoot one day.... I'll take it...

Put it this way, I'd shoot this over some "new" Star Alliance example... those are airliner versions of Invasion of the Body Snatchers...

Ok, this is not funny. Ever been to Belgium? If you think the EU an NATO hq are the 2 only things Belgium has left going for, than I'm really sorry for your ignorance.

Now, about the plane. It's not the most beautiful military plane around, but it stands out. it's not another boring government plane. Ok, I also don't like the colored lines on top of the fuselage, but I like the new tail design. It's the logo of the Belgian Military, by the way (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Belgium).

Re: New UN VIP aircraft to look out for

The only reason this aircraft is worth shooting is to document how absurd and silly an operation can go to paint a plane. I look forward to getting it just so I can look back and get a few laughs. I hope they eventually paint them into the same look that the A310s have as the A330 looks so unprofessional and can't be taken seriously.
