MIA, OPF spotting recap June 23rd

    Greetings,
I finally made it down it down to MIA after putting it off countless times for reasons (excuses). I started off at OPF to get the aircraft there and then made my way down to MIA. The experience was just amazing. Thanks to Rafal, Mike P and Art the flight tracking updates and assisting me with getting around smoothly once I arrived. Shooting without having to explain my actions cops or reciving cold and hateful stares from "concerned" citizens was very liberating. I will definately be going back soon. I almost forgot the way the hobby used to be. I'm glad there as still some places that are like that.

I picked up a few new types along the way.
    C-123, AN-24, AN-26

For me the best shot of the day was the NATO 707-300 (obviously) that was parked on the GA ramp.
The only disappintment was the that hte AN-12 were parked in an unshootable location at OPF. Luckily I already have one.
I will post images gradually from time to time today.
Ill put a few of the shots up. They will the ones that I felt were the highlights of the day.

I will only post new additions for me. All the other stuff is what I had already.

When I got home that Night I was like......"IM GOING TO MIA tomorrow Period!.

I don't look stupid anymore when someone asked me if I have visited MIA since my 6th months stay began.

I'm glad you made it down to the Miami area at last, Senga! You got some great shots and some nice captures and I'm very glad you caught the LTU new colors.

I actually saw that Cielos DC-10 at LIM the other day!

And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...

Mario - That DC-7 is, amazingly, in revenue service.

AA colors, but not titles of course.

Anyone who can should GET that plane before its gone.

love the 707 and the antonovs!
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Yes, I am glad to have made it..just wish I got the motivation to go before. If ti wasnt the winds it was the the weather, if it wasn't the weather it was the Flight School stuff etc etc.

    Gordon,
I was hoping it would be the new colors-but assumed ti woudlnt be because of my lack of luck.
I was eating a cup of Chef Boyardi Ravioli when it flew by. I almost missed it because it came around the tree line. I heard it on the scanner getting cleared for the approach but then totally forgot about ti as I was enjoying my lunch. I almost spilled the food when I got out of the car and started running for the holes.

    Mario, Tom,
I was shocked and a little disappointed that that plane had actually be repainted back into AAL colors. It was actually painted from AAL colors and reregistered for a while and then bought by Turks and reregistered back to its origional reg and then painted back. But I guess its authentic stuff so that all that matters. That was main plane I wanted at OPF was that AAL DC-7

    Heeeeee,
Ryan most of the good stuff I have I have because I planned for it and researched it. Its hard to do but

However there a few a few like the NATO 707-300 I shot on Saturday that were pure luck.
Maybe next time I go to Miami I will haev even better luck.

    :)
