    Seeing things???

While BBQing dinner tonight I heard a strange bird fly overhead. It was about 1815-1820 local, and it sure as hell looked like it had 4 tail mounted engines. Now where I live aircraft are transitioning from BOS Center to NY Approach, approx 12000 agl, 250 kts. just NE of the ROBER intersection. This aircraft was definitely headed to JFK, it was on the same track as all other European arrivals, and was well too high to be doing a wierd arrival into ISP. So I ask...were any of you guys still at JFK around 1830-1840 when this visitor would have arrived?

Nice shot across the bay. I have never seen Air Jamaica parked at the B gates before!

Bayswater, I have never spotted from there, looks like a good spot, on my last excursion in early,'05, I hit Meadowmere Pk. for the 31L/31R arrivals, and the Crossbay starbucks upper deck, for the 13L/13R arrivals. I havn't seen an Il-62 in years. I used to love CSA 's OK jet livery on the'62.
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
