Three-hundred and sixty-two passengers, media and VIP guests received the ride of a lifetime Friday as Lufthansa and Boeing celebrated the first scheduled 747-8 Intercontinental flight in Washington DC.
Atlas will operate the new plane on behalf of Swiss freight company Panalpina, whose livery is painted on the new jet. A second 747-8F yet to be delivered will also wear the Panalpina livery.
With its move across Kennedy Airport Friday morning, Space Shuttle Enterprise has begun the final leg of its journey to the Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum in New York, a leg which will take several days.
