Air France Closing NY Ticket Office; new A380 Service

I visited the New York Air France Ticket Office in Manhattan yesterday and got the sad news; their last day of operation will be on Dec. 31. I always liked visiting to pick-up an inflight magazine and the staff was always courteous and helpful. I liked best of all the jumbo Concorde model suspended from the ceiling. The only good news I got is that Air France plans to add a daily A380 service from CDG> IAD and back.

Any reason they're closing the office? Internet presence maybe?

Could be $$ savings with the economy and resurging fuel prices

Delta's office is a few blocks away, maybe they'll add some AF/SkyTeam signage. If I recall correctly, the AF office has a sign in the window listing all the carriers you could buy tickets for there.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
