Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

that's precisely what the little bumper is there for. if that had worn out and the fuselage dragged then there would have been an issue. i don't think boeings have a limiter on how far you can rotate.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

That is one really cool thing about the Airbus. You can haul that stick back to the stop and the nose is still only going as far as the tail will go before you hear a crunch though USAirways did have several tail strikes during takeoff and landing initally on the first 320's in the fleet which I beleive are even documented on Airliners.net. To that extent I am not sure if this feature was implimented post that time frame or if there was a procedure breakdown of some sort related to what flight law the crews were using at the time.
