    Yankee Stadium Flyover

Just got word that there will be a "Military Aircraft Flyover" at Yankee Stadium today before game 2 of the World Series. I have no idea what is flying or where it is based out of but thought I would pass it along.

    Re: Yankee Stadium Flyover

From Steve S in another thread

I hear the 3-ship F/A-18F Flyover by the VFA-11 Red Rippers from Oceana has been
rescheduled for tonight instead so keep an eye out for them over by LGA today.

    Thanks Steve.

I have been advised they will be holding at a fix over Westchester County, then start their approach over City Island, overfly the stadium then making a series of right turns to land on 22 at LGA.

Based on prior experience will probably depart LGA mid afternoon Friday.

    Regards

    Re: Yankee Stadium Flyover

Got a better than expected view of the flyover from our Ramp Tower at LGA, ended up being 2 not 3 FA-18's. Did not make the comon formation landing, perhaps due to darkness, landed about 60 seconds apart on 22.

    Cheers

I heard them over Midtown tonight, but didn't see them. :(

Barely saw them on TV. Quick shot of them from the ground approaching. Only saw their green/red anti-collision lights.
Wonder why they didnt use an aerial shot from the blimp? BTW where is the blimp stationed? HPN?
