    Plane Crash On Fire Island

Was listening to Suffolk PD "Command" Band a few minutes ago and I am hearing of a plane crash out East. All I know from
transmissions is that it is on Fire Island, Marine 33 is requesting the FAA, Suffolf Aviation has contacted the FAA and will be transporting them to the scene (or as close as possible, a ballfield LZ at Point of Woods) and apparently and thankfully the
pilot is fine (or as fine as could be after crashing).

Such a beautiful day to go fly! Good to hear the pilot appears to be ok!

Doesnt it seem that more accidents happen in clear weather?

Just saw a quick video from Chopper 12. A low wing plane that landed on the beach. 3 aboard from Rhode Island to NJ. Interesting that I saw no N # on the plane in the video.

It was a Ryan Navion. The photo on Newsday.com doesn't show the registration, but did give the owner's name (the pilot borrowed it from a friend for the trip). Based on that, it looks to be N4467K. Full story at:
