I hear a VH-3D just landed at Wall St heliport with two other choppers hovering behind her. Anyone see anything at JFK? I haven't heard anything about Obama coming to town...maybe a training mission?

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.

I think its a training mission for the UN General Assembly when Obama arrives.
Aspires to become an Air Traffic Controller at Kennedy Tower.

I was out at Bayswater earlier this afternoon and saw them take off and head south shortly after a C-17 departed 31L. Later I drove by the triple hangars expecting to see Air Force One but there was nothing there. Luckily I got a glimpse of one of the military helicopters being towed into a hangar.
No. From FAA Order 7110.65, Air Traffic Control:Originally Posted by cancidas

So their staging area is now the triple hangers, correct? If that's the case, why did the C-17 depart on 31L? Or is the 13L departure just for the actual VC-25?
Email me anytime at [email protected].
From what I've seen in the past, the support aircraft (either C-5s or C-17s) normally arrive and depart as part of the normal traffic stream, only AF1 gets special routing.

Was FLOTUS actually on the chopper? What did she fly to get up here?
