Crazy Fog in NY

JFK's visibility is 1/8 mile and in ground stop.

I was driving south on the Van Wyck coming to work and all of the sudden it's like I was driving through smoke.

Yeah I woke up at 8 and took my dogs out and it was pretty heavy here in Eastern Nassau. But as of this writing its
burning off nicely. But then again I could drive south on 135 and as I hit Merrick Road and its soup again.

I know it went from clear to about 600' visibility this AM in about 10 minutes. Drove in this AM @ 0400 and it was clear and nice out. By the time I was set up and looked out i couldn't see the end of our terminal. The runway RVR was down to 400 ' at one point. Its 930 and all is clear and the GS is cancelled.

For driving a foggy day is hell, but for people walking and enjoying the weather I think a foggy day is romantic and different we don't get many of those here in London.
