    A380 route change

Does anyone know when the A380 is gonna stop flying to JFK?

Isn't the Emirate flight at 1430 daily the only A380 into JFK? What happened to the Lufthansa flights and others? It sounds like the Concorde all-over again. Remember that Pan Am, TWA, and others placed tentative Concorde orders but reneged later. All the money spent by the PANYNJ to widen runways to 200', as well as taxiways and ramps for nothing. Maybe the closure of Rwy 31L/31R for spring 2010 will now be postponed.

Lufthansa has not yet received any of their A380 deliveries. Next A380 at JFK will probably be Air France, maybe Qantas.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

I heard from someone (although it was one of those "from a friend of a friend of a friend type deals) that Qantas will be bringing the A380 to JFK later this year. Air France is scheduled to take delivery of their first A380 later this year. And according to a statement by the Lufthansa CFO last month, the airline will delay delivery of their first A380s until early 2010.

From my very reliable sources who work for Qantas (aka Chief 76 pilot) I've been told QA has no plans currently to bring the A380 to JFK in 2009.

Here's the link to the implementation schedule on Qantas' website:
    http://www.qantas.com.au/info/flying/A380/schedule

I can't find the other page I saw again on the site, but there was a specific mention that JFK would still only operate the 767-200 JFK-LAX and 747-400 JFK-Australia via LAX , that the A380 was not planned for JFK 'as of this time'.
    Cheers,
