First the Concorde Nose, Now Sports Complex Plane Crashes

I went to Floyd Bennett Field and found that the full sized mockup aircraft that was on a pole
in front of the Aviator Sports & Recreation broke off the pole. When the guys lifting it decided
it would be better to use straps to lift the plane rather than using the two LIFT POINTS that
were at the center of gravity on the top of the wing! :borat:

Here is what the result was!
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

It's just ironic that these guys are called "Aviator". These guys have been effective at destroying 100% of the planes they have been the caretakers of.

Anyone know the history of this plane?

what a bunch of dumba$$es... is that a lockheed vega?
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Yes, it looks like Amelia Earhart's aircraft. (Not the famous Lockheed Electra that was lost and made her a legend)

Thats very upsetting, those guys need to pull their finger out and stop breaking or damaging planes.

If their staff are not fit enough to do this then I'm sure the some of the 10 million unemployed will only be to happy to take their jobs and show them how it should be done.

With all due respect for beating up the Sports complex, you have to understand that a company that pitiful could not possibly be responsible for lifting an aircraft. This would be the people they HIRED to do it. There is much better things that you can pin on them....like reneging on the deal setup by the Intrepid, lack of security for the aircraft, Complete incompetence in setting up a barrier around a historic aircraft, or their feeble minded counselors who let people throw balls against a historic aircraft.

In other words, it may not have been their fault

NOW BACK TO BLAMING THEM....they ARE idiots! :borat:
(just trying to be subjective  )

I wasn't refering to the Concorde issue that was resolved ages ago and I'm happy, but I'm not happy with the way other planes are treated there.

Quick update; I don't know if the aircraft has been remounted, but I know that it was spotted repaired and outside Aviator.
