Delta to add four weekly flights from New York-Tel Aviv

The additional flights are part of a rising trend in incoming tourism to Israel.

Delta Airlines, one of the world's largest airlines, is to add another four weekly flights to its New York-Tel Aviv route beginning June 2009, according to an announcement by the airline company to the Ministry of Tourism.

Israel was also just downgraded by the FAA into a lower grade of safety, so Israeli airlines for the moment can't add more flights to the US. With the situation there relatively calm and stable and more long-range a/c coming online thanks to the NW merger, Delta is taking the opportunity to grab market share.
