French Navy Helo Over The Hudson

A French Navy Aérospatiale Dauphin was flying up and down the Hudson this morning doing some sightseeing(taking photos too) around Manahattan and the Statue of Liberty. It then went and landed on the BEM Monge near the Verrazano, which is a French missle tracking and space observing ship.

They were here to welcome us to the family of socialist nations...that is until they surrendered to a departing Liberty Helicopters sightseeing tour. Boy were those tourists confused.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

I'll let you know I'm not sure yet. Hey Kenny did you welcome your fellow countrymen....I thought I saw some guy in camouflage shorts down by the shoreline waving a white flag.

Pretty cool. I wonder if they were in contact with EWR/LGA ATC or even self-announcing on the Hudson River freq?
