In New York's Little Italy neighborhood, they celebrated the feast of St Gennaro by holding an eating competition.
Every year competitive eaters show off their munching skills by shoving as much cannoli down their throats as possible, and washing it down with water, milk or coffee.
Cannoli is a popular Italian-American dessert pastry. It is also known as the 'little tube' due to its shape and it is filled with a sweet, creamy filling. Organizers say each pastry contains about 500 calories. But the calorific content didn't stop this year's winner from eating 20 cannolis in six minutes.
Brad Sciullo was overcome with emotion as he accepted his award and said that winning the competition was a dream come true.
