Passengers on Midwest Airlines will be able to choose between more legroom at a premium price or a narrower seat when they book flights.

The airline has added 11 seats to each of its Boeing 717 jets in a move aimed at boosting revenue during a time when rising fuel prices and decreasing consumer spending have hurt the airline industry. The airline announced last year that it was making the change in seating.

The airline’s 23 refurbished Boeing 717s will have room for 99 travelers, up from the 88 seats previously available in their single-class cabin. [Full Article]
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Probably a smart move on YX's part. The new seats look pretty nice and modern but personally I think their cabin would look so much nicer and classier in blue or grey, or perhaps a combination. I read YX considered the change but surveys of their top FF's wanted to keep the brown. Everybody is different, and has different taste, but I don't care for brown on an airliners exterior or interior. Brown always reminded me of two things, dirt, and turds !
