From speednews : Iraq govt tentatively orders 40 Boeings

GOVERNMENT OF IRAQ signed an agreement to order 30 737s and 10 787s from Boeing; deal is not final.
Not to make it a political discussion , but I wonder where the $ for this and the CRJ's they recently ordered might be coming from ?

Remember the 8 hours you worked today? A few seconds worth of your earnings went towards those shiny new green jets.

We discussed about 6 weeks ago when it was just talk. Now they've actually signed the paperwork... viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10513&p=82131&hilit=iraq+boein g#p82131
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Matt you are very much mistaken my firend...We've had to extend the workday by two hours for all Americans in order to pay for those jets. The normal 8 is used to pay for gas and if you don't drive the high price of everything else because of the high price of gas!
