Anything happening at EWR this morning?

Just got a call from a client flying AA to ORD this morning.

He said security lines are longest he's ever seen and there are bags everywhere! Has there been a security scare or something?

Well I don't know if this means anything, but I just went to the FAA airport status page and it does say that morning flights to ORD were delayed by an hour.

Delays on flight from NY airports to Chicago

The Federal Aviation Administration is reporting that flights from LaGuardia, Kennedy, Newark-Liberty and even Long Island-MacArthur airports bound for Chicago's O'Hare Airport are being delayed an average of three hours -- and no Chicago-bound flights will be allowed to depart the metro area until at least 11 a.m. -- due to major thunderstorm activity in Illinois.

These back-ups have begun to lead to gate and taxi delays at Kennedy of between 16 and 30 minutes, according to the FAA.

When I was in New York yesterday, Adam Sandler was filming a movie on 5th Avenue near Trump Tower. I heard that they were also going to be filming at EWR. Maybe it has something to do with that? :?
