    NYC-area Storm Diversions: June 5th, 2007

Welcome to the first real thunderstorm-afternoon of this summer! Could be some interesting diversions this afternoon with severe storms in the forecast. Already a Tornado Warning in Connecticut and there looks like a decent line beginning to form in eastern Pennsylvania heading this way.

Post any diversions you see here!

I just got back from work, they're not expecting the storms to have a direct impact on the area, other then departure delays.

i was looking at the wx radar earlier, and saw nothing. looks like it's going to be a quiet night with the exception of the delays in and out of the area. just look at the radar...

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Most of the activity is progged to be north of the city. We may get an isolated t'storm, but it doesn't look like anything very organized will move in this afternoon.

in your defense, you at the very lease give out proper information. albeit too much info, you will not give out a wrong forecast to managers.

Friday is looking a lot better (or worse, depending on your point of view) for severe thunderstorms...the worst of the activity is going to be west of here, but we should start to see some strong-to-severe thunderstorms by early evening.

Worse defineately, the more weather there is the longer I stay in the tower. The plus side is watching some wild approaches or departure turn outs depending on where the storm is verses LaGuardia Airport.

I'm not seeing any storms in the forecast for Friday but I hope there will be some, I have a half day which would free me up if I need to take a trip down to SWF!
