Fat FA's grounded by an Indian Airline

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6710845.stm

An Indian Court has ruled against a group of female FAs who were grounded from the airline for being fat.

The opinion was written and rendered by a female Justice.

Here's an interesting quote from the story. Gotta tell you, in this day and age of equal rights, its a surprising verdict.

"If by perseverance, the snail could reach the Ark, why can't these worthy ladies stand on and turn the scale."

    Thoughts?

    Also sayeth the judge,
"I do not understand how it is any way unfair, unreasonable and insulting to their womanhood if they are asked to control their growth."
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

I think the part about the aircraft flying at "higher altitudes" is bull**** and irrelevant, but I think the ruling is perfectly fair. When you're working in a confined space it's just common sense that a smaller person will perform their duties more effectively than a larger one.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Although the extra cushioning, in the highly unlikely event of an accident, might not be such a bad tradeoff for the excess weight.
