If ignorant passengers seeing a gorgeous scheme like that only knew the danger within that is a US 734's interior...

That was not the first US East 73 in N/C. 505AU was and it's been done for about 3 weeks.

Has an A330 been done yet? I seem to recall reading one is in the paintshop, and on a similar theme, I noticed on a.net that the 330s were re-registered with different tail numbers sometime late last year. Anyone know why???

Can I ask a question? When I go to DTW, it always seems the RJ's are always painted in the new colors, is there a reason why the RJ's were painted faster than the mainline jets?

that was done so that there weren't duplicate ship numbers.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

You are seeing our CRJ-200's which are operated by air Wisky. We formed our new contract with them after the unveiling of our new paint scheme so instead of going to the old US "blue" colors they went right to the new colors. That is all.

I believe they where re-registered due to the alliance with America West.

And yes there currently is an A330-300 in the shop for painting.

Thanks guys, I happen to think the Airbus fleet looks great in the old colors, very distinctive (and I think white-based schemes are too common), but eager to see how the new one looks before passing judgement.

As for the regs, forgive me for not knowing how it works, but I still don't understand why the merger with America West would require a change in the reg number, ship number maybe but why the reg? Like, N677UW became N277AY, does it have something to do with how this particular airline relates the tail number to the ship number?

That doesn't make sense to me either, NW DC-9's are still in Eastern regs.

Like Matt said it is for reason of ship numbers. I love the 319 and 320 in new colors but I am not looking forward to the 321. I think the 321 is sexy in current colors as well as the 757 which I perfer in the US "blue". Our Embraer fleet looks awesome though.

Not exaaaaactly. 3 ships were (and still are) painted in the 'business suit' livery, 406, 407, and 410AW. The other 67, or so, are in the US n/c. All of the PSA CRJs and CR7s, and all of the Dash 8s are still in the navy. A handful of Mesa CR9s are in the new c/s, but most are still in the HP Express livery, even though they operate for US-East ex-CLT! Only 1 of the Colgan Saabs, 35SZ, has been repainted.

Lest we not forget a BE1900 in the shop as we speak and the E-170 fleet has the first one in route for delivery sometime in the next week if it is not already in IND getting fitted on the inside
