    USM?

    My current lense, Canon 75-300mm III, does not have the USM focusing on it. Will this be a problem for taking aviation photos? I heard that the DC motor has trouble focusing in on moving objects.

    You will be able to get shots, that's not a problem. You'll have to ensure you really learn to pan well to avoid a blur, but you can shot moving aircraft just fine.
