Yeah, does anyone know why it's here? I wonder if Southwest is looking at EWR for future services.

    Charter Flights.

Southwest will not enter EWR or LGA due to CO at EWR and Slots at LGA, expect JFK to happen for WN sometimes within the next 2 or 3 years.

WN is more concerned about Florida cities. I won't rule out SWF because I am not in the new city planning dpt but I cannot see that happening anytime soon but SWA has proved us wrong before.

Why not? You just ruled out EWR and LGA. :)
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

haha well WN wont go into EWR because of CO, same reason AA at DFW, both are strong at their respective hubs.

LGA they would rather get in there but slot restrictions wont allow WN to expand massively if they wanted to and all that and ATA is doing just fine for them.

That leaves JFK, which if WN wants to tap into the NYC Market, JFK would be viable for them. ISP is a new york city airport to them serving only the long island area regardless how you new yorkers wanna call it ;)

SWF is different as it is a weaker market compared to NYC area, plus B6 and FL are already there, no need for LCC airlines there now. I would imagine its to small for 3 LCC plus the others flying there.

I kind of think JFK would be less likely than either LGA or EWR though.

They would never try to go head to head with JetBlue. JetBlue is already an established LCC @ JFK, and like you already mentioned, ISP is consideed NYC for them. Same as Providence is considered Boston.

WN would not dare touch any of the big three. LGA is slot controlled and would hurt them, JFK is blue city and its not canyon blue either. EWR. Well we all know CO would never stand for those buffons over there. They would go to the AA tactic of pushing fares down taking the hit and driving them out of there. Because when the price is similar would you rather fly to OAK or Texas in a cattle car seat arrangement with a bag of Honey Roasted nuts or a full meak service in all classes? I will take the latter.
