Zoom UK to start LGW-JFK

I will post more as I hear it but apparently Zoom UK's inagural route will be LGW-JFK starting in May.

Zoom UK is the UK subsidary of the Canadian airline.

The flights will be a 767-300.

With all the exisiting capacity on the NY-London route, and fares that aren't exactly high, I wonder how successful budget-oriented Zoom can be considering that Maxjet looked at and abandoned a similar concept in favor of the more premium one they have today.

With the current exchange rates, I think volume levels between europe and US can absorb increased capacity. 5-6 work colleagues needed to fly from Stockholm to NY this monday (3 airline providers) and no seats available so they are coming Sunday instead.
