    United (TED) compressor stall

So, Matt is sitting in his kitchen eating breakfast when he hears on the TV "We have breaking news coming in, a United Airlines jet..." WHAT??? Something is happening! So I run to the TV. "a fire erupted on the left engine of this United Airlines Jet, no injuries....."

It was actually a TED A320, but I am sitting there yelling at the TV that it was just a compressor stall and not news worthy at all, no big deal, and of course there are no injuries!

    SLOOOOOWWWWWW news day! :D

    Here is the story:

The engine on a United Airlines passenger plane briefly caught fire on Tuesday morning just before takeoff at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said the pilots turned off the No. 1 engine after the flames erupted while the plane was taxiing. Fire-rescue workers from the Sheriff's Office put out the fire.

The 136 passengers and crew members remained on board during the incident, and no injuries were reported, the Sheriff's Office said. The plane was being inspected by United mechanics.

The flight was headed to Washington, D.C.

Same thing happened at IAD back in the spring, but it was right at the start of the takeoff roll, and they dumped the pax on the tarmac. First time I'd ever seen the slides popped.
