    Qatar A330 at JFK

In my feeble attemps yet again (I HAVE FAILED) to try to get the Virgin America, I took note of a Qatar A330 poised to departed JFK.
    Departed at "Amiri Seven Heavy"
Since I already have this one (A7-HJJ) I accomplished nothing by photographing it again.
vor13l this should confirm your visual a few days ago about the QTR(QAF Amiri) you had of a QTR (QAF Amiri) A330 landing 13L/R

As said, this guy departed shortly after this photo was taken on 22R a few minutes after noon.

Really nice bird. This was a VIP flight, correct?

Yes it was a "Amiri flight (QAF)" Those are the VIP flights. I really wanted to get the A340-200 in current colors. I missed that one a 1.5 years ago :(

Supposedly Qatar will be starting service to NYC in 2007, lets hope they end up at JFK.

I saw the Qatar come in today. I was at Bayswater when it landed. Nice shot Senga.

Tommy, I'm not 100% sure but I think they stated they wanted to serve EWR? But Etihad also wanted to serve EWR and look what airport they are serving now.

    Thanks Nick,
I really like the ground shot better than the one I got 1 year ago.

Thanks for the confirmation Gordon. Looks like I don't have to worry about getting that one when it comes.

Well... I'm not sure but I think you caught the A340-500, not the A340-600HGW. The A340-600HGW has been flying to CDG, DXB, and LHR from DOH.

The A340-600HGW is in the airlines new colors.

    Thanks Gordon,
For some reason I keep calling it a A340-600 eventhough I documented it as a 600. I must be getting old :)

Everytime I look at this pik my mind keeps on thinking in looking at a longer version. I will probably make the same mistake tomorrow
