According to the Bergan Record, Delta will unveil a David Wright plane at LGA on Monday.

Does anybody have any other info on this?

Wew, thats really something. Thanks for the info Eric.

I would'nt have thought Wright was quite the superstar level yet (stats aside..).

Pretty elite ranking there. Even Matsui's metal is only in Japan... albeit HEAVY METAL he got...

    Tom

PS - Mets logo jet might have been nice though... like the Dodgers used to have..

Early in the season DL dedicated a Song Plane to David Ortiz "Big Pappi" of the Red Sox in BOS. But I never even saw a photo or any Song aircraft with any special markings so in less that was shelved at the last minute then this may be a minor event. I would not expect any kind of major special livery and if I am wrong and this a big deal then it's a bonus !

There will be a media event at the Marine Air Terminal on Monday at 1100. He will be posing for pictures and have been advised he will not have time for autographs.

I'm guessing perhaps a boring Shuttle MD88 and perhaps that's explains the David Ortiz thing I mentioned earlier, if it's only by the boarding door it would not show up in normal pictures or if you saw the aircraft taxi by you !

    Cheers

David Wright stands next to a Delta aircraft named "The David Wright Flight." (JP Verni/NY Mets)
