Aircraft Enroute To JFK With Hydraulic Problems

Got a message as of 6:07 a plane was heading in to JFK with a hydraulics problem and emergency services were staging to respond. Anyone know what's up?
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

We were out at JFK today. I'm not sure what that was at 6:07, but around 4:45 we heard something over the scanner that certainly got our attention: "Are you an emergency or not?" But that was all we gathered. We were there until about 6:15 and didn't see anything unusual.

Does anyone know what either instance was about?
