    Two diversions to SWF from JFK today, why?

    I was just checking Flightaware and noticed that today there was two diversions to SWF from JFK this afternoon. One an American 767-200 and the other a jet Blue A320 from OAK. Was there bad weather in JFK today that I didn't know about or did it have to do with some heat related problem?

    New York Tracon lost radar, but for a brief time. I don't think that would have made people divert.

    During the radar outage many flights were diverted as they issued a ground stop at JFK. We had numerous diversions to SWF,ACY and out own blue cities for a fuel and go.
