Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.

It seems the flight involved was jetBlue 561, EWR-SJU, which was originally delayed an hour due to weather.

According to jetBlue, the plane must have been about halfway to PR and turned around...it took off at 11:26 and landed at JFK at 1:03. It took off again at 1:50 and is due to land at 5:42.

Lots of details left out of that story. What started the fight? Was it the LATE departure? I mean midnight from EWR-SJU? That's a problem right there, late departures breed heavy drinking in the terminal while people wait, and then all it takes is one loud drunk to piss people off.

I waas thinking the same thing. Plus, the flight was delayed an hour due to weather...scheduled departure is 10:35. I don't understand the point of arriving in Puerto Rico at 2:30am.

I can remember many years ago there was a late night flight to Puerto Rico...Pan Am, Eastern another airline, I don't know..From JFK probably...

It was known as the "roach coach". :)

Read into that what you will...but please spare me the flames.. my wife is half Puerto Rican.

    Fight?

Maybe it is going to be a Pay Per View event on future Jet Blue flights?

    Sorry...couldn't resist.

Based on the timeline, I don't think it was halfway there--it would have maybe diverted to a FL station if it was that far along. I think it might have been only 45min to 1 hour into the flight.

    Sad though...
    It's the fares, stupid
