    Hi,
Were you able to see what the name of the home base is on the tail stripe?

Maybe out of Dover, hauling all the "stuff" needed for Monday's VIP visitor at the USMMA graduation?

When I landed at JFK This afternoon around 4:30 it was still sitting behind T5. As I was riding the AirTrain back to Long Term Parking I could see a couple military helicopter's over by the Deicing hanger/tent.

And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

If you know what color the tail strope was I could probably get an idea of where it came from.

Might have been Westover as it has been once in a while. Lately they have been using the C-17s for these kind of flights.

Did the tail strip resenble this one?

does anyone know if the C-5 is still there this afternoon? this morning when i was waiting for the shuttle bus in the employee lot at LGA i heard and saw a large, dark airplane climbing ever so slowly through LGA's airspace. of course my transciever was in my locker at work but the strobes didn't look like any commercial aircraft that i've ever seen. even the sound gave it away, it was more of a low rumble than anything else... definately was a dark color to. at 0400 i don't think that UA would be circling over LGA.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

What did the strobes look like Matt?
US Military Cargo planes like KC-10, C-5, C-141 etc etc aircraft have white anti collition beacons instead of the red beacons. This is a big givaway that it would have been the C-5.

it was a white beacon, definately. i recognised it as military just by the engine sound. the strobes were a single-flash, so it was definately either a boeing or a lockheed.
