    ATA airlines POR (plan of reorganization) has been approved by the bankruptcy court and will emerge from Chap 11 bankruptcy by Mid February.

    Jet Blue has posted its first ever loss of 42.4 million dollars since its IPO. JetBlue cited high fuel costs and competition as the main reason for its loss. JetBlue also stated it expects further losses in 2006.

    United Airlines stated that after being in bankruptcy for three years it will emerge from Chapter 11 today Wednesday February 1.

    Bombardier maker of the popular CRJ 200/700/900 has dropped plans to produce the larger C series 100 plus seat jetliner due to a weak U.S market.

    I was very happy that Air Tran posted a profit for 2005. Guess the combination of the 717 & the 737-700 is a perfect mix of aircraft.

    Frontier - Airbus only (posted a loss)
    Jetblue - Airbus & small amount of EMB-190's (posted a loss)
    Southwest - A variety mix of 737 aircraft (posted a nice profit.)

    heard about UA this mornign as i worked OPS. glad to hear it... also heard about the Bombardier news today too. somewhat glad about that, would have been bad news fro them.
    it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
