And the response by emergency services was IMMENSE including helos from multiple agencys. Gotta say if I had a camera it was like a Fly In of 1st
Responders. At least 2 NJSPD AB139s, NYPD had a couple of ships, reportedly Nassau flew in, EMS copters MONOC and Atlantic Health had their EC-135s,
USCG was flying SAR and a number of ENG ships on scene. If anything it was a good test of disaster response.

I guess the news choppers were afraid/not allowed to fly out there so they stayed over Sandy Hook waiting for the "victims" to arrive on Coast Guard craft. Someone in the control room asked Chopper 2 why they weren't going to get some debris shots, and he replied, "If our engine fails, we have to swim back."

Six helicopters landed next to Sandy Hook Coast Guard Station to medivac the victims. Looked like two NJSP, three regular medivacs and one I couldn't identify.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

I'm amazed that this happened. What kind of person would do such a thing?

Hats off to the fast and serious response of the rescuers though.
