There is no tracking AF1. Basically we have a time frame and we are pretty sure it lands 31L

I will try to get out there with Dennis today. What better way to try out my camera for the first time than by spotting AF1!

At 2:45pm, Dennis, start listening to tower here:

    http://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=mht

President is scheduled to depart there at 3:00pm. AF1 is SUPER PUNCTUAL!!! You can almost set your watch by it Once it leaves, if you're quick on your feet, you should be able to monitor it via ATC as it crosses Boston Center and gets handed off to NYARTCC, Approach and then Tower.

If you listen to tower, you know she is near when Tower starts to stop all inbound/outbound traffic for VIP movements...

The TFR opens at 3:30pm, and is in effect for the area around JFK until 4:30pm.

Yes, he will almost certainly use 31L.

I like Bayswater, because you can get a side-on, as well as a shot with the tower in the background, but Inwood Park works as well.

Good luck - it's not a good day for shooting, but if you haven't already caught him, it's worth taking a ride.

I heard Nassau PD had to land and check out a couple of individuals at a certain location. It was not me..... Hope everything went well.

I was listening on LiveATC and heard them call tower about it. Once they were down, they had to wait for AF1 to land before they could take off again.

Dumb question but I'm assuming my flight from Atlanta to LaGuardia was delayed in departure from 440 to 530 because of this?
