    Shuttle Transport 747

    found this shot on anet:

i was wondering how the tail cone gets transported from Edwards to Kennedy Space Center...
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

The tailcones are transported by truck between Edwards and KSC, if I recall correctly. The SCA is a joy to watch with an orbiter attached. We'd always see them fly over our house in Orlando on approach to TTS.

Does anyone remember when they did a fly over of Manhattan? They buzzed pretty low and did a circle around I think the Statue and Empire State Building. There were pictures in all the papers. I actually got to see it briefly as they passed over the Upper East Side. Cant remember the year though. Anyone?
