"AEROLÍNEAS ARGENTINAS WILL FLY NONSTOP TO NEW YORK
Starting next November, Aerolíneas Argentinas will re-start its nonstop operations to New York, with, initially, three weekly services.
This means the Airline will recover one of its most important international routes, which up to now was flown via Miami.
Flights will leave from Ezeiza International Airport on Mondays, Thusdays and Saturdays at 22:30, arriving at John F. Kennedy Airport at 07.20, local time.
Return flights from New York will be operated on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 18:15 (NYC time), landing at Ezeiza at 07:10. Flights will be operated with Airbus A340.
The company's decision to re-start the Buenos Aires-New York nonstop services is to be seen as part of the airline's new expansion policy, together with two previous annoucements about new investments.
Buenos Aires, October 5th, 2006."
JFK already appears on Aerolíneas' timetable, although the schedule is yet to be placed on the website.
This means there will be an equipment change on some routes. Let me tell you that all four A342s are currently operating and a 2nd 747-200 may be returned to service as a back-up.
Out of the 6 EZE-MIA flights, four are being operated with A342s (Mon, Thu, Sat, Sun) and two with A310 (Wed, Fri). With four weekly flighs to Miami, four to Rome, four to Auckland/Sydney and two to Barcelona, should the A342s fly to JFK thrice weekly, we'll see some changes on the EZE-MIA route, some of which already appear at the webiste and at Amadeus.
Looking at the situation, I assume things on the route will change as follows. EZE-MIA going to be 1x weekly with A342 (Sun), 2x weekly with A310 (Wed, Fri) and 3x weekly with B742 (Mon, Thu, Sat). The seventh weekly frequency, to start on the first week of November, should be operated with A310.
