JFK 31R Departures

I recently visited JFK on Aug. 11. I noticed that for several hours before 1300, they were using Rwy 31R for departures. This answers our question about whether Rwy 31R can be used for departures next spring when Rwy 31L will close for 3 months.

I recently visited JFK on Aug. 11. I noticed that for several hours before 1300, they were using Rwy 31R for departures. This answers our question about whether Rwy 31R can be used for departures next spring when Rwy 31L will close for 3 months.

When I was touring JFK tower, I asked Tom, the controller there what runway configuration will be used when 31L will be closed and he said most likely the 4s/22s. That might change of course over time.
