Last I heard the project with Airbus didn't garner the desired results and now they are working with Boeing Aviation Partners on developing a A230 winglet.

A/C 636 was the test platform for the winglets. They tried both styles and I guess they didnt get the results that warrented the modification. The AC has been back in our syatem about 10 months now.

They didn't try the Boeing Aviation Partners winglet because it’s not ready yet. They tried one by Airbus and one by some other company. The issue was weight; the weight of the winglet combined with the modifications to the wing negated any fuel savings. Just proof that the A320 is subpar to the 737 ;)

Tom,

Why don't you tell us how you REALLY feel???

What is the effect of the wing fences on the A320? Not enough? I know they were added to A300 and A310s mid life.
