Thanks to the March 2 edition of Life Magazine in this Sundays' NY Daily News, spotters finally got some recognition. Inside is a 2-page spread showing spotters at Maho Beach in St. Maarten welcoming an Air France 747. I can't recall ever seeing an article about plane spotting in a general publication (non-airline publication). This is great . Hopefully, this will help in telling the public that spotting is a harmless, legitimate hobby, similar to bird watching. Thanks to Life Magazine.

I wonder how we could all get copies? This could be very handy to carry around to show appropriate parties when being given a hard time or ask to leave a location we are entitled to be in.

Someone should contact the magazine and tell them to follow up on some NY's doing it too!

I attempted to contact Life Magazine at [email protected] but the message was returned to me as undeliverable. I tried to pick-up extra copies from my newsstand this morning but he says they're all gone.

I can't recall ever seeing an article about plane spotting in a general prublication (non-airline publication).

The New York Times had an article about the local NYC spotters and this website that was published over the summer.

That's great if we got coverage from the NY Times last summer. Do you recall the date? Maybe I could find it. I was so excited because Life Magazine gets worldwide distribution and tells our story to the world; while the NY Times is more local.
