The photos in the print version are pretty cool. There are two pictures, one with Mel and I, and another with Tom Turner, Brian, Josh, and Mel in the background.
I'll scan or take pics of them and post soon.

Excellent article Phil. the reporter seemed to understand our hobby well and very cool that the online version has a link to the sight. And as far as Melanie hoping to get more women into the hobby if the article gets at least one woman interested then her comments will be a success. I am glad there where a few interesting schemes that morning and which 727 was mentioned ? Oh and BTW Mel I have missed the TCA 319 several times because I thought it was Spirit so don't sweat it !
Great Job Phil as usual of coordinating this and promoting our hobby to the masses in a positive light !
Cheers

That is a fantastic Report Phil and Mel. Very proud of you guys for bringing the awareness of spotting to the new york area.
I really want to try one for the STL Area though it seems we don't garner very much support here.
Mel I loved your comment "i seriously thought it was a spirit" hahaha :)

Great article, and great 'advertising' for aviation nuts and NYC Aviation. I'm looking forward to the pics, as picking up a NY Times is a bit hard on this side of the ocean.

Just to let you all know...
The stupid NY Times will not have this section in the paper IF your not from or getting it in the city.
I have mine, from NJ. So in the papers infinite wisdom they remove the NY section and install a NJ insert.
So Phil, please do scan that article since many here will never see it.

Now he too has clear face pic.

Great article Phil!
Maybe we can try it at EWR next time, see how long it takes for PAPD to throw everyone out!
CBS Sunday Morning program a few weeks did an article on train spotters, maybe you could get them to do a follow up on aviation enthusiasts. The program goes out nationally including Alaska and Hawaii.
