• After evading authorities for over two years and stealing planes, boats and cars along the way, Colton Harris-Moore, aka the “Barefoot Bandit,” has been sentenced to seven years in prison. [Seattle Post-Intelligencer]

• A cat who escaped its carrier and spent two days on the lam in SeaTac Airport was found hiding under a baggage carousel by an Alaska Airlines employee. [Alaska Airlines]

• Umm, what? Mokulele Airlines, which currently operates short inter-island hops in Hawaii using Cessnas and CRJs, wants to start flying to London-Stansted via Rockford, Illinois, using a leased 767-200ER. [Rockford Register Star]

• Thanks to bankruptcy proceedings, legacy airlines such as United and Delta–and soon American–operate with costs rivaling those of so-called “low cost carriers” like Southwest. [WSJ]
