The Collings Foundation, known for its collection of iconic military aircraft spanning multiple conflicts, has been touring the Pacific Northwest over the past week. On Friday, NYCAviation photographers David Lilienthal and myself had a chance to fly aboard two World War II-era bombers—a B-17 Flying Fortress and a B-24 Liberator—on a ferry flight from the Flying Heritage Collection in Everett, Wash. down to the Museum of Flight in Seattle. Though the flights were initially delayed by poor weather, once aloft the bombers certainly didn’t disappoint; expansive views of the great PacNW scenery and a chance to explore the various positions on board abounded. For those in the Seattle area, the two bombers, along with a P-51C will be in town through the weekend. Take a trip down to watch the planes, talk to a veteran of one these birds, or take a ride yourself! See the Collings Foundation schedule for the next visit to an airport near you!

NYCAviation would like to thank the Collings Foundation and the Museum of Flight in Seattle for their contributions to this gallery/article.
