The biz-jet is an Israeli Aircraft Industries Westwind. Which used to be produced bt Rockwell, which in turn was derived from AeroCommander. I believe the crux of the design is now owned by Gulfstream.
Spotters have been Homeland Security before HS was a glimmer in the president's eye.

    For the AM-

    Runway 1R-Sully Plantation
Runway 1C/19C Daily Parking Garage 2, Level 5 ( you will need to call ops to let them know you are there. PM me for the number).
Runway 1L can be shot from somewhere off of route 50 I believe (Harris Teeter Parking lot?) I have only seen AM landings on this runway twice, one of which was an emergency. it is a royal PITA to taxi back to the terminal from over there, so it is lightly used.

    For the PM:

1R arrivals/19L departures: Udvar Hazy Parking lot. Light gets better the longer you stay. Lighter departures from 19L can turn early and spoil the shot, or extend for no apparent reason.

1R Departures: Daily 1 parking garage, Level 5: all the departure shots in this thread were taken there. Its a great location for the PM departure rush.
Note: DLH, BA, and Virgin tend to use Runway 30 for departure, so don't be shocked to see them taxi the other way
