    I wish they made stuff like this when I was growing up.

    I had to make my own airport for my diecast airliners. It was built on a 4'x8' sheet of plywood. I hand painted about 5 runways on it. I even went into such detail as to use colored beads to make the runway/taxiway lights, and used some leftover ceramic tiles from our kitchen remodeling to make the terminal building. The passenger jetways were made out of rectangular plastic stock from the hobby store. I don't think I did too badly for only being 11 when I built it. If I can find any pictures of it I'll be sure to post them.
