Steve, no FedEx or Lufthansas at JFK? They are daily multiple times... so you will easily get to see one or more :-)

Then once in a while you get Cargoitalia, Finnair (I am still waiting for a good catch) and really rare, Saudi Cargo. There are others like EVA MD-11 which is rare as well as I believe one or two KLMs left that make it here...

at EWR you can get a hundred FedExes in one day LOL

I'm wondering if she goes to Nashville at all? When I was walking around the terminal before heading back home, I looked out the window by an AA gate and saw that there were still markings on the ramp that said L1011. The only reason I believe they may still use that marking is because all the other ones that are not in use any longer have been painted over. Just a thought.

Good info to know Manny. Thanks!! I have always loved the look of the DC-10s and MD-11's, especially head on. I am really looking forward to coming down in two weeks. Hopefully the weather cooperates and nothing else comes up that would keep me here in CT.

Oh, and I wasn't trying to insist that there weren't any at JFK. My appologiesfor the miscommunication.

And I mean the 787 in that shot. Not in service yet but has a line.

yeah something like that, but I would tend to think that that would be in preparation for the 787 coming into service whereas the L-1011 isn't in service anymore. And since it appeared that at BNA all the other markings that were not used anymore were painted over, but he L-1011 spot wasn't.

Like I said, it was just a thought, and I'm not trying to discount your comment seahawk. I see entirely where you're coming from. I may have to snap a pic of the ramp when I got back to BNA in April.

I got an answer from BNA itself about the L-1011 ramp marking.

Stephen, I'm an aviation enthusiast as well. I love the L-1011 as well, since it's such a beautiful and graceful aircraft. Unfortunately, you are correct, there are only a few L-10's left in passenger service; most have been converted to freighters. I have worked at BNA since mid-2003 and in all that time have not seen an L-1011. I think the markings are a left-over from a bygone era and not used. Thanks for the great question; let me know if you need anything else, Butch
