    JFK - 5/31/2014

While I'm up in NY, I had time for some JFK spotting on Saturday. They were up and down on the 31s as there was some work being done on 4/22. I spent a couple of hours at HoBe for departures. Ended up stopping at Costco for a little bit, ran into Cary there, but by then the clouds were making shooting tough.

First time seeing the JAL 787

There was a pretty good crosswind the whole time, and almost everyone - even the "little" guys were extending then making nice banks. Well, everyone except this guy, the TAME A330...

Awesome banking shots! Were these images cropped?

Thanks! Yes they were cropped, especially the smaller stuff - 400mm on a full frame camera is a little short at HoBe.

    Great photos !

I was @ Hobe (from ~ 10:30 to ~1:30 - when they switched to 4's) but I didn't see any other spotters, just later came one spotter I've met before...Wonder, where moose135 was hidding...

Sorry I missed you. I was there until almost Noon when the South African departed, but didn't notice any one else out shooting. I was "hiding" in this - not exactly stealthy.

Great shots! Are you around tomorrow?
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Some of my shots that day. I'll try not to repeat too many same airplanes as in OT:

After sky was covered by clouds:

After they changed RWY's to 4's, I tried to get Atlas B748, I caught on Rockaway Blvd:

That's was when weather turned really ugly and some there were some raindrops and I decided to go home. Well, soon after I got home, sky cleared and again was a very nice...Go, figure that out...

Mark, your photos are great. What's about this Qatar A-320? How often does it happen?
