So what is the point? Why go through this if there isn't going to be a visual change to the aircraft c/s ? That's all I care about

As the article said, Manny, the point is to separate the regional brand from the airline that is now providing a portion of that flying. To the average customer, it doesn't mean much, but to the airline, it is significant.
