This article should be called, "The Worst Piece of tripe masquerading as journalism yet to appear on the internets". It was a link off a NYT article about the 777 http://viewmixed.com/13-worst-passen...n-service/2123

That was terrible. The 757 as one of the worst? Yeah right. Every argument in that article was about noise or space. Boo.

I stopped half way through when I realized they couldn't at least google an actual Embraer EMB-120 photo.
Since? Or "as of"? Slight difference.MD-80

This sensationalist writer lost me at "Though...".
Then he goes on to say: "aging high-fliers that should not be allowed to leave the ground with passengers on board." Where does this BS come from? Is he questioning the FAA's ability to deem an aircraft airworthy? And what about the fact that these "aging high-fliers" go through routine inspections and a D-Check 2 or 3 times in it's service life. Does this bozo realize that a D check (complete overhaul) basically starts the clock at zero again for the plane? It's a thorough inspection, restoration and update that takes about 40,000 man hours to complete. This journalist should be taken out of service...

So much wrong with this article. It's very subjective in pretty much every case. Knocking a plane because it was only produced for 15 years? really? The complaint about the MD80 being "slow" killed me. it was .02 mach faster than the unmentioned 737 classics and only .02-.025 mach slower than an A320 and 737 Next Gen respectively. And for the A310, I couldn't even tell what the real problem was with it. because it had one fatal crash, or because it is operated in Pakistan? Unreal and a waste of my time!

Absolutely pathetic article... a total waste of inconvenienced electrons in my opinion!
I flew on 2 MD-80s in the past and I didnt see nothing wrong with them. The A310 did have a few disasters in the past, dont forget about the Thai Airways that crashed in the early 90s and the Aeroflot in 1994. I flew on an A310 on Swissair from Zurich to Newark in 1996 and not to mention I didnt find nothing wrong with the plane at all. Honestly the one aircraft I can say thats uncomfortable is the 50 seater CRJs. Those were cramped.
