If you look at my video... the T-birds went to Long Island Sound to circle around until timing was right to hit the Yankee Stadium home plate at the end of the National Anthem at 4:06PM so that's why they were near New Rochelle presumably to stay out of LGA and HPN traffic lanes. As it was, I felt bad for a poor Delta A320 on final for KLGA ILS RWY 22/13 and right about Hunts Point Market (and if you know that's like 1 mile from the RWY) Tower tells them, cancel clearance, pull up and right and go around... The Thunderbirds were literally 5 miles from them... ATC in NYC has gotten this down to a science. Watching them work the Nighthawks and Reach and Thunderbirds and regular traffic at JFK yesterday as smooth as butter was magnificent. NY Approach would pick them up around Sandy Hook or lower and bring them into Verrazano area and hand them off to JFK Class B or Tower... too cool.

No TFR was listed, but there was this NOTAM issued:
JFK 08/136 JFK AIRSPACE DMSTN HIGH SPEED ACFT 1000-1300 AGL .5 NM EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FM JFK275012 TO JFK340015/HUDSON RIVER EXCLUSION AVOIDANCE ADZD WEF 1208191630-1208191830
Basically they are telling you to avoid the Hudson corridor between 12:30pm through 2:30pm...and this is today's NOTAM. So I guess they will be flying it again.
I was in the city today for a Dr appt on E84st and after hopped on a Crosstown bus and began a nice walk southward along the river frpm West 86st. Its so great the work they have done creating pathways and parks. Before I left 1010 WINS mentioned Air Force week and there would be a Air sea Rescue demo at 2:45 by the Intrepid. I was dubious about this report but figured I was going that way anyway. Did see a military Blackhawk at one point but it wasnt a PaveHawk and it kept on going. Of course nothing going on but had a fantastic walk and the sun came out around 3PM. And the Hudson corridor was BUSY with MUCHO sightseeing copters from 1:30 on.The Intrepid seemed crowded but nothing AF related going on outside. Had lunch at this Irish pub/restaurant by the Circle Line then proceeded as far as 26 Street, watched the West Side heliport awhile from this pier that juts into the river then headed home!! Not a bad day!!

attempted to shoot the flyover at Citi. They were pretty high.

Great video and thanks for the info! I know the area a bit from many years of driving up to CT and back, so I can imagine the A320 pilot being called out. That had to make for an interesting flight for all aboard.

BTW, I see there were 2 F-22s that did the flyover at the Brooklyn Cyclones game.
I just found this crappy phone video of the flyover but at least you can still see it. LOL

Here's a cool behind the scenes video by the Thunderbirds of their 3 NYC flyovers during Air Force Week.
